Mir Muhammad Yousuf Badini, the candidate of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has been elected as Senator unopposed. Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan Syed Sultan Bayazeed said on Sunday that four candidates had submitted their nomination papers for the vacant seat of the Senate.

"The three candidates who have withdrawn their nomination papers in favour of Mir Muhammad Yousuf Badini include Haji Wali Muhammad of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Abdul Wahid of Balochistan National Party-Awami and independent candidate Muhammad Osman Badini," he said.
